GOYA empowers young artists by offering opportunities to submit and showcase their artwork for inspirational, themed-based events and contests. Participants are featured on our website, facebook page, and Instagram gallery. We also partner with local businesses and galleries to showcase selected artwork.
GOYA was started by professional artists and educators Freedom & Nancy Rodriguez to challenge and empower young people to express and strengthen their creative thinking skills.
GOYA art contests are FREE to enter. However, all contests have an optional Starter Art Box for purchase. The great thing about these art boxes is when you purchase a Starter Art Box you’re also helping to give an art box to a child in need. One-for-one. Our charity boxes are filled with fun art items and essential school supplies!
judging criteria for contests
Entry guidelines may differ between competitions. However, based on the artwork submitted to our competitions, they will be judged based on the following elements of artistic expression:
Interpretation and the clarity of the theme to the viewer.
Creativity and originality of the depicted theme.
Quality of artistic composition and overall design based on the theme.
Overall impression of the art. What is the effect of the artwork in general? Overall, does the artwork stand on its own as a complete work of art?

If you picked up one of these flyers then here are some things you need to know.
You can use it for your art!
Use permanent markers, ball point pen, color pencils, inking pens, and pencils.
Avoid using water soluble markers, paints, and inks or anything that will smudge. Crayola markers are nice to use but they are not permanent and will smudge.
When you’re done, neatly fill out info on card and place it in an envelope and mail it to: Gallery of Young Artists 3110 Sports Ave. Smyrna, GA 30080
